Starting on 2 February 2025, the first provisions of the EU’s AI Act will become applicable, specifically relating to prohibited AI practices. As companies prepare to comply with these provisions, many questions about the impact of this groundbreaking piece of legislation need to be addressed.

We invite you to a breakfast event where we will provide an introduction to the upcoming changes and explain how organisations can prepare for compliance with the AI Act. Georg Kresbach will offer an overview of the key provisions and Phillip Wrabetz will take an in-depth look at the categorisation of prohibited AI practices. We are also pleased to welcome Merve Taner (Erste Bank), who will take a closer look at the problems and solutions involved in implementing the AI regulation in practice.

Speakers:

  • Georg Kresbach, Partner Wolf Theiss
  • Phillip Wrabetz, Senior Associate, Wolf Theiss
  • Merve Taner, Legal Counsel, Erste Bank

Note: The Wolf Theiss team was involved in the preparation of the first Austrian commentary on the EU Artificial Intelligence Act, which will be published by MANZ-Verlag in January 2025. Georg Kresbach, Roland Marko, Phillip Wrabetz and Johannes Sekanina are co-authors of this work. Merve Taner is another co-author of the commentary, which provides a concise explanation of the AI Act and offers legal guidance for dealing with AI.
